On May 21st the Flemish city of Kortrijk (Courtrai) in Belgium hosted the first ever official Cars & Coffee event, it was a huge success made possible by the efforts of a long time car enthusiast such as Jonas Verbeke, owner and admin of Snellewagens.be.

«I started organizing a Cars & Coffee event, because there was no quality super car event in the area. At the same time I knew there were a lot of super cars hidden in private garages in the area. So I came up with the idea to organize an event that I as an enthusiast would love to visit» told us Jonas, pictured above being interviewed during his first Cars & Coffee this May.
Being part of the Cars & Coffee international team sure brings satisfaction and some fascinating challenges: «We attract people that normally never go to this kind of events, because we choose to organize events in the heart of a town, instead of the outskirts: not an easy task because city centers don't mix well with hundreds of loud sportscars, but look at the result!».

We reached out to Jonas and asked him what he thought differentiates C&C events from others:
«Cars & Coffee events come in many shapes and forms, so it's hard to speak for all of them, my focus is on events that stand out because they bring people together. It takes time to organize and get everything running smoothly but the Cars & Coffee organization is starting to get recognition as a brand and quality label and this is going to be of help».
